Job summary

Boston Public Schools seeks an exceptional Elementary and Special Education teacher with an SEI endorsement to join our community of teachers, learners and leaders. This is a long-term substitute position starting 09/08/2026 and ending 12/02/2026, hired per diem at the per diem rate.

Responsibilities include teaching Elementary General Curriculum with SEI learners, writing goals in IEPs, collaborating with staff, and ensuring progress toward district learning goals.

Qualifications

• Hold a Bachelor's degree.
• Massachusetts teaching license in Elementary 1-6 with Moderate Disabilities PK-8 and SEI Endorsement or ESL license.

Responsibilities

• Teach Elementary General Curriculum in a setting inclusive of students with Special Needs and English Language Learners (SEI).
• Provide small-group instruction to students with moderate to severe cognitive delays to support progress in the general curriculum.
• Write and implement goals and objectives in student IEPs and provide timely progress reports.
• Provide needed accommodations for learning and testing; develop curriculum and analyze student work for MCAS Alternative Assessments.
