Job summary

Boston Public Schools seeks an exceptional Elementary Teacher with an SEI endorsement to join our community of teachers, learners, and leaders. This is a long-term substitute position starting 1/15/2027 and ending 06/08/2027, with per diem pay at the outset.

The role requires a Massachusetts Elementary 1-6 license, a bachelor’s degree, and eligibility to work in the United States. The teacher will implement district curricula, assess student progress, and engage families in student learning.

Qualifications

• Hold a Bachelor’s degree as required.
• Massachusetts Elementary 1-6 teaching license required.
• Meet state and federal guidelines to be fully licensed and Highly Qualified.
• Authorization to work in the United States by first day of employment.

Responsibilities

• Teach elementary SEI-certified curriculum with integrated reading, writing, and analytical skills.
• Administer district assessments per guidelines and report outcomes.
• Create a developmentally appropriate, inclusive classroom environment.
• Establish structured routines and positive behavioral expectations.
• Engage families and communicate progress as appropriate.
