Job summary

Boston Public Schools seeks an exceptional Elementary Teacher with an SEI endorsement to join our community of teachers, learners, and leaders. This long-term substitute position runs Oct 20, 2026 to Jan 1, 2027, with per diem pay prior to assignment.

Responsibilities include interdisciplinary instruction, assessments, and fostering a safe, engaging classroom. Massachusetts licensure in Elementary 1-6 with SEI or ESL endorsement is required; prior urban teaching experience preferred; per diem

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required.
• Massachusetts Elementary 1-6 license with SEI endorsement (or ESL dual certification) required.
• Authorization to work in the United States on first day of employment.

Responsibilities

• Teach Elementary Teacher in an SEI setting.
• Deliver interdisciplinary instruction aligned with state curricular frameworks.
• Administer district assessments per guidelines.
• Establish a positive classroom environment and expectations.
• Collaborate with staff and families as needed.
