Job summary

Boston Public Schools seeks an exceptional elementary and special education teacher with an SEI endorsement for a long-term substitute position. Reports to the Principal/Head of School.

The role runs 09/08/2026 through 01/04/2027, with per diem pay at start, and a pathway to deeper district involvement based on performance and needs. Responsibilities include delivering Elementary General Curriculum to diverse learners, including students with SEI and MCAS preparation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required for consideration.
• Massachusetts Elementary 1-6 license with Moderate Disabilities PK-8 and SEI or ESL endorsement required.
• Full authorization to work in the United States by first day of employment.

Responsibilities

• Teach Elementary General Curriculum including students with Special Needs and English Learners (SEI).
• Provide small-group instruction and progress reporting aligned to IEPs and state standards.
• Develop and implement goals, accommodations, and curriculum for MCAS Alternate Assessments.
• Collaborate with school staff to support diverse learner needs and modifications.
