Job summary

Boston Public Schools seeks an exceptional Elementary and Special Education teacher with an SEI endorsement to join our community of teachers, learners and leaders. This long-term substitute position starts 10/13/2026 and ends 04/12/2027, with per diem pay.

Reports to the Principal/Head of School and emphasizes high expectations and closing achievement gaps. The role involves teaching Elementary General Curriculum with SEI, supporting English Language Learners and students with disabilities,

Qualifications

SEI endorsement required.
Experience with elementary and special education settings.
Experience writing and implementing IEP goals and progress reports.
Ability to provide accommodations and adapt curriculum for diverse learners.
Ability to collaborate with school teams and families.

Responsibilities

Teach Elementary General Curriculum including students with Special Needs and English Language Learners.
Provide small-group instruction to support progress in the general curriculum.
Write and implement goals and objectives aligned with IEPs and report progress.
Provide accommodations and adapt curriculum for MCAS Alternative Assessment readiness.
Collaborate with school staff to support student needs and modifications.
