Pye-Barker, Pflugerville, TX, is seeking a skilled Security Systems Technician to service intrusion alarms, access control, CCTV, and related low-voltage systems across multiple sites.

You will diagnose issues, perform preventive maintenance, read diagrams, and document work while ensuring safety and code compliance. Travel to job sites is required; strong customer communication is essential.

Qualifications

• Texas Security License required (Alarm and Access Control).
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 3+ years in fire and life safety industry as an apprentice or technician.
• Valid driver’s license with clean driving record.
• Strong knowledge of intrusion alarms, access control, CCTV, low-voltage systems.
• Ability to work independently and complete standard service jobs without supervision.
• Ability to read and interpret technical documents and system drawings.

Responsibilities

• Independently service, troubleshoot, repair, inspect, and maintain security systems (intrusion alarms, access control, CCTV, low-voltage).
• Diagnose system issues and complete corrective actions timely and professionally.
• Test and verify proper system functionality and compliance with codes, standards, and customer requirements.
• Perform routine inspections and preventive maintenance on security systems.
• Read and interpret blueprints, wiring diagrams, layouts, and manuals.
• Use hand tools and testing equipment to complete service work safely and efficiently.
• Complete service documentation, inspection reports, and work orders accurately.
• Communicate with customers, team members, and supervisors on job progress and status.
• Follow safety procedures and customer site requirements; travel to job sites as required.
• Other duties as assigned by management.
