Job summary

Pye-Barker is seeking a skilled Service Technician to service, troubleshoot, and maintain security systems in our Denver area locations. You will handle intrusion alarms, access control, CCTV, and other low-voltage systems, reading diagrams and manuals to ensure safe, compliant operation.

The ideal candidate has 3+ years in fire and life safety, a valid driver's license, and the ability to work independently while communicating clearly with customers and team members.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience in fire and life safety industry as an apprentice or technician.
• Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record, if driving role.
• Ability to read and interpret technical documents and system drawings.
• Ability to work independently and complete standard service jobs without direct supervision.
• Strong working knowledge of intrusion alarms, access control, CCTV, and low-voltage systems.

Responsibilities

• Independently perform service, troubleshooting, repair, inspection, and maintenance of security systems including intrusion alarms, access control, CCTV, and related low-voltage systems.
• Diagnose system issues and complete corrective actions in a timely and professional manner.
• Test and verify proper system functionality and compliance with applicable codes, standards, and customer requirements.
• Perform routine inspections and preventive maintenance on security and low-voltage systems.
• Read and interpret blueprints, wiring diagrams, system layouts, and technical manuals.
• Use hand tools and testing equipment to complete service work safely.
• Complete service documentation, inspection reports, and work orders accurately and on time.
• Communicate professionally with customers, team members, and supervisors regarding job progress and system status.
• Follow all company safety procedures and customer site requirements.
• Travel to job sites as required.
• Other duties as assigned by management.
