Job summary

Pye-Barker Fire & Safety is seeking a Security Service Technician to independently service and maintain security systems including fire and intrusion alarms, access control, and CCTV. The role requires 3+ years in the fire and life safety industry and Texas licenses, plus a valid driver's license and ability to travel to job sites.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• 3+ years in fire and life safety industry as apprentice or technician.
• Texas Fire Alarm License required.
• Texas Security license required.
• Valid driver’s license with clean driving record if driving role.
• Ability to read and interpret technical documents and system drawings.

Responsibilities

• Independently perform service, troubleshooting, repair, inspection, and maintenance of security systems including fire and intrusion alarm, access control, CCTV, and related low-voltage systems.
• Diagnose system issues and complete corrective actions in a timely and professional manner.
• Test and verify proper system functionality and compliance with codes, standards, and customer requirements.
• Perform routine inspections and preventive maintenance on security and low-voltage systems.
• Read and interpret blueprints, wiring diagrams, system layouts, and technical manuals.
• Use hand tools and testing equipment to complete service work safely and efficiently.
