Job summary

Pye-Barker Fire & Safety is hiring a Security Service Technician to independently service and maintain intrusion alarms, access control, CCTV, and low-voltage systems. You will diagnose issues, perform preventive maintenance, and ensure compliance with codes and customer requirements.

Strong reading of technical documents is required. The role requires travel to job sites, a valid driver’s license, and the ability to work without direct supervision while delivering professional customer

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience in fire and life safety industry as an apprentice or technician.
• Strong working knowledge of intrusion alarms, access control, CCTV, and low-voltage systems.
• Ability to read and interpret technical documents and system drawings.
• Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record, if driving role.
• Ability to work independently and complete standard service jobs without direct supervision.

Responsibilities

• Independently perform service, troubleshooting, repair, inspection, and maintenance of security systems including intrusion alarms, access control, CCTV, and related low-voltage systems.
• Diagnose system issues and complete corrective actions in a timely and professional manner.
• Test and verify proper system functionality and compliance with applicable codes, standards, and customer requirements.
• Perform routine inspections and preventive maintenance on security and low-voltage systems.
• Read and interpret blueprints, wiring diagrams, system layouts, and technical manuals.
• Use hand tools and testing equipment to complete service work efficiently and safely.
