Job summary

Pye-Barker Fire & Safety is seeking a Security Service Technician to independently service and maintain intrusion alarms, access control, CCTV, and related low-voltage systems. You will diagnose issues, perform preventive maintenance, test system functionality, and ensure compliance with codes and customer requirements.

Responsibilities include reading blueprints, completing documentation, and communicating job progress with customers and supervisors while traveling to multiple job sites as

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• 3+ years of experience in fire and life safety industry as an apprentice or technician.
• Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record, if driving role.
• Strong working knowledge of intrusion alarms, access control, CCTV, and low-voltage systems.

Responsibilities

• Independently perform service, troubleshooting, repair, inspection, and maintenance of security systems.
• Diagnose system issues and complete corrective actions in a timely and professional manner.
• Test and verify proper system functionality and compliance with codes and customer requirements.
• Perform routine inspections and preventive maintenance on security and low-voltage systems.
• Read and interpret blueprints, wiring diagrams, system layouts, and technical manuals.
• Use hand tools and testing equipment to complete service work safely.
• Complete service documentation, inspection reports, and work orders accurately and on time.
• Communicate professionally with customers, team members, and supervisors.
• Follow all company safety procedures and customer site requirements.
• Travel to job sites as required.
