Job summary

Convergint is seeking a full-time Security Project Technician 2 in Savannah, GA to install, program, start-up, certify, and train customers on security, fire alarm, life safety, and building automation systems.

You will read blueprints, troubleshoot, mentor junior staff, coordinate with project managers, and provide ongoing technical support while maintaining exceptional customer service and adherence to safety standards.

Qualifications

• Customer focus under pressure with service mindset.
• Solid technical skills in fire alarm or electronic security systems.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities.
• Self-starter with minimal supervision.
• Reading blueprints and drawings; basic math and tooling.
• Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication.
• Organizational skills to manage multiple projects.
• Proficient in MS Office; able to use other apps.
• Valid driver's license and clean driving record.
• Ability to travel locally to jobsites; occasional overnight travel.

Responsibilities

• Install, program, test, repair, and service non-routine systems including security, fire alarm and life safety.
• Read blueprints, schematics, manuals; interpret wiring diagrams; repair equipment.
• Operate systems to demonstrate, commission, and analyze performance; write non-routine programs.
• Mentor less experienced staff and supervise testing, tuning, adjustments.
• Coordinate with Project Manager/Operations Manager; assist in scope changes.
• Provide customer training and ongoing technical support.
• Identify project risks and communicate to minimize impact.
• Support quality improvements and customer satisfaction.
