Allied Universal is seeking a Security Officer Screening Specialist in Lexington, KY to protect students, staff and visitors at campus entrances. You will screen individuals and belongings, monitor access points, verify IDs, and respond calmly to incidents while delivering professional service.

The role is full-time with an afternoon/evening schedule and a pay rate of $19.00 per hour. We value teamwork, reliability, and a strong safety focus across our educational campus environment.

Qualifications

• At least one year of security-related experience.
• Comfortable using a computer or tablet.
• Ability to lift more than 20 pounds.
• X-ray screening experience preferred.
• Customer service experience preferred.
• Be at least 18 years old for unarmed roles; 21+ for armed roles.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Background check and drug screening required.

Responsabilités

• Provide customer service to students, faculty, staff, visitors, and/or guests while carrying out site-specific screening procedures.
• Screen individuals and personal belongings at designated access points using approved screening equipment and procedures.
• Verify identification, monitor entry activity, and maintain access control for campus facilities and events.
• Respond to incidents and alarms in a calm, professional manner and notify appropriate personnel as needed.
• Complete required logs, screening documentation, and incident reports accurately and promptly.

Job Description

As a Security Officer Screening Specialist in Lexington, KY, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Education, and more. As a Screener in an educational setting, you will help maintain a welcoming, secure environment by screening individuals and belongings, monitoring access points, and reporting unusual activity. You will provide exceptional customer service, communicate professionally with students, staff, and visitors, and support a positive campus experience. What You'll Do:

• Provide customer service to students, faculty, staff, visitors, and/or guests while carrying out site-specific screening procedures, policies, and emergency response activities.
• Screen individuals and personal belongings at designated access points using approved screening equipment and procedures, escalating prohibited items or concerns according to site protocols.
• Verify identification, monitor entry activity, and maintain appropriate access control for campus facilities and events.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner, notifying appropriate campus personnel and/or emergency responders as needed.
• Complete required logs, screening documentation, and incident reports accurately and promptly while maintaining a professional presence at the assigned location.

Minimum Requirements:

• At least one year of security-related experience is required.
• Comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
• Ability to lift more than 20 pounds is preferred.
• X-ray screening experience is preferred.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
