Job Description

As a Security Officer Full Time Inspection in Lexington, KY, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Education, and more. As a Screener in an educational setting, you will help support a welcoming, secure environment by operating screening equipment, reviewing access points, and assisting visitors, students, and staff with professionalism. You will remain attentive to potential security-related concerns, communicate clearly, and help deter incidents through a visible presence. Pay Rate: $19.00 / Hour

What You'll Do:

• Provide customer service to students, faculty, staff, visitors, and/or contractors while carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and emergency response activities.
• Screen individuals, bags, packages, and/or other authorized items entering designated areas in accordance with established procedures.
• Verify access credentials and direct visitors to appropriate campus locations while maintaining professional and courteous communication.
• Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, notifying appropriate personnel as required.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of assigned areas and the surrounding perimeter, documenting observations and reporting security-related concerns.

Minimum Requirements:

• At least one year of security-related experience is required.
• Ability to lift more than 20 pounds is preferred.
• X-ray screening experience is preferred.
• Comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
