Job Description

As a Security Officer Full Time Screening Checkpoint in Lexington, KY, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Education, and more. As a Screener in an educational setting, you will help support a welcoming environment by screening visitors and belongings, monitoring access points, and responding to security-related concerns. You will provide exceptional customer service, maintain clear communication, and use screening equipment to help deter incidents. What You’ll Do:

• Provide customer service to students, faculty, staff, visitors, and/or vendors while carrying out site-specific procedures, access screening protocols, and emergency response activities.
• Screen individuals and permitted items entering designated campus facilities in accordance with established procedures, reporting prohibited items or concerns to appropriate personnel.
• Monitor entry points and maintain awareness of activity in assigned areas to help deter unauthorized access and support a welcoming educational environment.
• Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, following site-specific reporting and escalation procedures.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of assigned campus areas and perimeters when directed, documenting observations and reporting security-related concerns.

Minimum Requirements:

• At least 1 year of security-related experience is required.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
• X-Ray screening experience is preferred.
• Ability to lift more than 20 lbs is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
