Allied Universal is seeking a Security Officer Security Screening in Lexington, KY to safeguard clients and maintain a welcoming, secure campus environment. You will operate screening equipment, monitor access points, and communicate observations to staff.

The role emphasizes teamwork, integrity, and a people-first culture, with full-time schedules in the afternoon/evening. Prior security experience and comfort with tech are a plus.

Job Description

As a Security Officer Security Screening in Lexington, KY, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Education, and more. As a Screener in an educational location, you will help support a welcoming, secure environment by operating screening equipment, monitoring access points, and identifying prohibited items. You will interact professionally with students, staff, and visitors while maintaining a visible presence and communicating observations to the appropriate personnel. Pay Rate: $19.00 / Hour

Job Schedule: DayTimeMon02:00 PM - 10:00 PMThur02:00 PM - 10:00 PMFri02:00 PM - 10:00 PMSat02:00 PM - 10:00 PMSun02:00 PM - 10:00 PM

What You'll Do:

• Provide customer service to students, faculty, staff, visitors, and contractors by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and emergency response activities as appropriate.
• Screen individuals entering designated campus facilities using established access-control and screening procedures; communicate professionally regarding entry requirements and prohibited items.
• Observe and report suspicious activity, policy violations, hazards, and access concerns to the appropriate personnel.
• Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, following site-specific protocols and escalating concerns as needed.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of assigned campus areas and surrounding perimeters, as assigned, to help deter unauthorized activity and identify security-related concerns.

Minimum Requirements:

• At least one year of security-related experience is required.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Comfort using a computer or tablet is preferred.
• X-ray screening experience is preferred.
• Ability to lift more than 20 pounds is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
