Job summary

Meta seeks a Security Engineer Lead for Security Foundations to scope, design, and champion security solutions across domains such as IAM, cryptography, AI security, and cloud. The role requires setting technical direction, defining threat models, and coordinating with security, infra, and legal teams to manage risk at scale.

You will translate complex regulatory and business requirements into actionable security architectures and drive implementations across a broad technology stack.

Qualifications

• Minimum: B.S. Computer Science or related field.
• Deep technical expertise in at least one domain listed and ability to gain credibility across unfamiliar domains.
• Significant experience leading large cross-company engineering initiatives.
• Experience managing security risk and balancing security and friction in a large org.
• Strong communication and influencing skills across functions.
• Ability to operate in high-ambiguity environments and balance tech design with business processes.
• Hands-on engineering leadership across Security Eng and Software Eng teams.

Responsibilities

• Set technical direction for security solutions and platforms used across the company.
• Identify highest-risk items company-wide and lead threat modeling and solutions.
• Define how AI agents are identified, authorized, and audited across Meta's infra.
• Balance security with user velocity and cost to keep the company moving securely.
• Drive solution design, architecture, and lead implementation when needed.
• Build partnerships across security, infra, corporate engineering, and legal, translating requirements into tradeoffs.
• Present credible security tradeoffs to senior leadership (VPs and C-level).
