Job summary

Meta is seeking a Security Engineer Lead to scope, design, and champion security solutions across domains like Identity, Cryptography, AI Security, and Cloud Security. You will set the technical direction and drive architectural decisions across a broad set of systems.

You will translate complex regulatory and business requirements into actionable security strategies, and you’ll communicate tradeoffs to senior leaders while coordinating with Security Engineering, Infrastructure, and product

Qualifications

• EOQ minimum: B.S. in CS or related field.
• Deep technical expertise across multiple security domains and credibility in unfamiliar domains.
• Experience driving large cross-company engineering initiatives.
• Experience managing security risk and balancing security with friction in a large org.
• Strong communication and influence across functions.

Responsibilities

• Set technical direction for shared security solutions and platforms.
• Identify highest-risk items company-wide and develop threat models.
• Define AI agent identity, authorization, and auditing across Meta infra.
• Balance security tradeoffs with speed and cost to keep momentum.
• Drive solution design and lead implementation when needed.
• Partner with Security, Infrastructure, legal, and product teams to translate requirements into tradeoffs.
• Present credible tradeoffs to senior leadership to drive decisions.
