Job summary

Meta is seeking a Security Engineer Lead within Security Foundations to scope, design, and champion company-wide security solutions. The role spans identity, cryptography, AI security, cloud, and asset management, guiding multiple domains rather than a single area.

You will translate regulatory and industry frameworks into concrete security work, and present credible tradeoffs to senior leadership to improve Meta's risk posture.

Qualifications

• Minimum degree: B.S. in Computer Science or a related field.
• Deep technical expertise across multiple security domains and the ability to become credible quickly in unfamiliar ones.
• Experience driving large cross-company engineering initiatives and influencing across functions.
• Ability to balance security with friction and drive secure, scalable solutions.
• Hands-on engineering leadership spanning Security and Software Engineering.

Responsibilities

• Set technical direction for shared security solutions and platforms across the company.
• Identify highest-risk items and lead development of threat models and solutions.
• Define how AI agents are identified, authorized, and audited across Meta's infrastructure.
• Navigate tradeoffs between security, friction, and cost to keep the company moving securely.
• Drive solution design and lead implementation as needed.
• Build partnerships across security, infrastructure, corporate engineering, and legal.
• Present tradeoffs credibly to senior leadership (VPs, CTO, CISO) to drive decisions.
