Meta is seeking a Security Engineer Lead in the Security Foundations group to scope, design, and champion cross-domain security solutions across identity, cryptography, AI security, and cloud security. You will set technical direction and own broad platforms rather than a single domain.

In this breadth role, you will translate regulatory requirements into actionable security tradeoffs, build threat models with named owners, and present credible decisions to executives.

Qualifications

• Broad technical leadership across security engineering and software engineering teams.
• Ability to drive large cross-company engineering initiatives.
• Experience balancing security with friction in a large org.
• Ability to translate regulatory requirements into actionable tradeoffs.
• Experience communicating with senior leadership (VPs/CTOs/CISOs).
• Hands-on engineering experience in a blended security/software engineering org.

Responsibilities

• Set technical direction for security solutions and platforms shared across Meta.
• Lead development of threat models and security solutions across multiple domains.
• Define how AI agents are identified, authorized, and audited within Meta's infra.
• Balance security tradeoffs with speed of product development.
• Drive solution design and lead implementation when needed.
• Build partnerships across security, infrastructure, and legal teams and translate requirements into tradeoffs.
• Communicate security decisions credibly to senior leadership.
