Job summary

Meta's Security Foundations organization seeks a Security Engineer Lead to scope, design, and champion security solutions company-wide across the domains we support—from identity to AI security and cloud. The role is broad, requiring influence across multiple engineering teams and a clear technical direction.

You will develop defensible threat models, drive cross-functional programs, and translate regulatory requirements into credible security tradeoffs for senior leadership.

Qualifications

• B.S. Computer Science or related field.
• Deep technical expertise in at least one domain and credibility across unfamiliar domains.
• Experience driving large cross-company engineering initiatives.
• Experience managing security risk and balancing security with friction in a large org.
• Ability to communicate and influence across functions to drive solutions.
• Ability to operate in high-ambiguity environments while balancing tech and business processes.
• Hands-on engineering background with leadership across Security and Software Engineering.

Responsibilities

• Set technical direction for security solutions and platforms shared across the company.
• Determine highest-risk items company-wide and lead threat modeling and solutions.
• Define how AI agents are identified, authorized, and audited across Meta's infrastructure.
• Navigate tradeoffs between security and friction or cost to maintain speed.
• Drive solution design, including architecture, and lead implementation when needed.
• Build partnerships across security, infrastructure, and legal to translate requirements into tradeoffs.
• Represent tradeoffs credibly to senior leadership (VPs/CTO/CISO) to drive decisions.
