Job summary

Carvana seeks a 2nd Shift Safe and Secure Associate to protect people, vehicles, and assets at the Hoffman Estates facility. You will control gate movements, patrol yards, and support incident response with CCTV/RFID tools. You will engage with employees, vendors, and visitors, ensuring safety protocols and Carvana values are followed.

You will be trained on life-saving measures and work in a 24/7 environment with opportunities for growth, benefits, and a collaborative startup-like culture.

Qualifications

• 1–2 years in a customer service environment.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Proven decision-making ability in complex settings.
• Ability to build relationships and collaborate effectively.
• Able to organize, plan and execute multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
• Capable of handling conflicts constructively.
• Knowledge of safety programs (OSHA) preferred.

Responsibilities

• Manage and document movement of cars at gates and entrances.
• Be the face of Carvana to associates, vendors, and visitors.
• Lead with clear communication and active listening with teams and customers.
• Conduct routine patrols and document security/safety concerns.
• Get trained in first aid, CPR, and AED, and apply as needed.
• Assist with badge creation, CCTV review, and other security tasks.
• Support incident response and enforce Safe and Secure Procedures.
• De-escalate situations while upholding Carvana values.
• Follow Safe and Secure Principles at entrances/exits and use SAS App/RFID tech.
• Deliver service-first approaches and embody company purpose.
