Job summary

Carvana is seeking a Functional Lead for the Safe & Secure Team at our HQ to supervise front desk Associates, provide training on protocols, and uphold high performance across security operations.

You will lead incident management, develop safety policies, coordinate with internal and external partners, and ensure compliance with local, state, and federal requirements while maintaining a secure workplace.

Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day activities of assigned team; identify strengths and weaknesses; determine areas to improve.
• Identify and evaluate trends, outcomes, and develop plans to accomplish tasks.
• Engage team with coaching, development and performance management; provide feedback.
• Create an environment that inspires positive communication, cohesion, and adherence to values.
• Proactively communicate expectations, performance measures, and goals to team.
• Prevent and resolve conflict among team members.
• Monitor adherence to systems, policies, procedures and performance standards.
• Maintain staff by recruiting, selecting, orienting, and training employees.
• Reinforce progress toward team goals and monitor outcomes.
• Communicate with other teams and stakeholders.
• Support leadership and implement team/department initiatives and strategies.
• Escalate high-risk issues to senior management and provide recommendations.
• Ensure safety of associates by meeting local, state and federal requirements.
• Lead Incident Management program at HQ locations; plan and sustain awareness.
• Directly lead Safe & Secure technology processes: badge access, server room controls, monitoring, and overall program health.
• Record incidents, ensure data accuracy, and conduct after-action reviews.
• Implement and monitor visitor and vendor check-in processes with training.
• Conduct risk assessments of HQ facilities.
• Collaborate with Safe and Secure Operations Center for business needs.
• Assign work and ensure staffing matches KPIs and goals.
• Be onsite during business hours; may exceed 40 hours; occasional after-hours as needed.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
