Four Seasons Resort and Residences Dominican Republic at Tropicalia is seeking a Security and Safety Manager to lead the pre-opening security and safety program. You will manage daily operations, develop risk assessments, coordinate emergencies and oversee a team of security professionals to protect guests, residents and property.

The role requires five years in security leadership, fluency in Spanish and English, and a track record in high-end hospitality.

Qualifications

Four Seasons Resort and Residences Dominican Republic at Tropicalia will feature 95 keys and 25 branded residential homes, 8 distinct F&B outlets, all thoughtfully designed to reflect a contemporary interpretation of the Dominican Republic’s natural beauty. The sustainable luxury destination is located on a 60‑acre (24 hectare) site along the pristine beachfront of Playa Esmeralda in northeastern Dominican Republic, along the southern shores of Samaná Bay. A site of breathtaking natural beauty, Tropicalia is home to a diverse ecosystem of white‑sand beaches; crystalline, aquamarine water and coral reefs; mountains, forests, mangroves, lagoons and rivers; a working coconut plantation; and an organic farm.

About the Role

Four Seasons Resort and Residences Dominican Republic at Tropicalia is seeking a Security and Safety Manager to join our pre‑opening team. Reporting to the Director of Security and Safety, this position will manage daily security and workplace‑safety operations, supporting the protection and wellbeing of guests, residents, employees, visitors and property assets while ensuring compliance with Four Seasons standards and applicable local requirements.

What You Will Do

• Manage and supervise the daily activities of the Security and Safety team, ensuring effective coverage of the resort, residences and supporting facilities.
• Participate in pre‑opening risk assessments, operational‑readiness inspections and the development of security, occupational‑safety and emergency‑response procedures.
• Recruit, onboard, train, schedule, coach and develop Security employees, maintaining high standards of performance, professionalism and guest interaction.
• Oversee security patrols, access‑control points, CCTV monitoring, key control, loading areas, employee entrances and other security‑sensitive locations.
• Respond promptly to emergencies, accidents, injuries, medical situations, fire alarms, disturbances and other incidents, coordinating an organized response and appropriate follow‑up.
• Conduct and document investigations involving accidents, workplace injuries, losses, theft, property damage, policy violations and other security or safety‑related matters.
• Prepare accurate incident reports, witness statements, investigation files, daily activity logs, safety records and trend analyses.
• Conduct regular security, occupational health and safety, fire‑life‑safety and risk inspections throughout guest, residential, employee and back‑of‑house areas.
• Track identified hazards and corrective actions, collaborating with department leaders to ensure their timely resolution.
• Support the development, implementation and regular testing of emergency, evacuation, hurricane, severe‑weather, fire and crisis‑management procedures.
• Coordinate safety training and awareness programs covering emergency procedures, accident prevention, safe working practices, personal protective equipment and incident reporting.
• Support departmental compliance with applicable occupational health and safety requirements and maintain required inspection, training and incident documentation.
• Work closely with Engineering to monitor and maintain CCTV, access‑control, alarm, radio, emergency and fire‑life‑safety systems.
• Participate in workplace accident reviews and recommend preventive measures based on incident trends, risk assessments and operational observations.
• Establish professional working relationships with emergency services, law‑enforcement agencies, medical providers and relevant government authorities under the direction of the Director of Security and Safety.
• Coordinate security and safety arrangements for VIP visits, special events, large groups, contractors and other activities requiring additional risk planning.

What You Bring

• University degree or technical qualification in Security Management, Occupational Health and Safety, Risk Management, Criminal Justice, Hospitality Management or a related field; equivalent professional experience will also be considered.
• A minimum of five years of progressive security, safety, military, law‑enforcement, loss‑prevention or occupational‑safety experience, including previous supervisory or management responsibility. Luxury‑hospitality experience is preferred.
• Strong knowledge of security operations, workplace safety, risk assessments, investigations, emergency response, access control, CCTV and fire‑life‑safety procedures.
• Calm and sound judgment under pressure, strong leadership and communication skills, high integrity and the ability to manage sensitive information discreetly.
• Fluency in Spanish and working proficiency in English are required. Current certification in occupational safety, first aid, CPR, fire safety or emergency management is preferred.

Schedule & Hours

• This is a full‑time position.
• The successful candidate must be flexible to work early mornings, days, evenings, overnight shifts, weekends and public holidays based on operational needs.
• As the resort operates 24 hours a day, seven days a week, scheduled days and hours may vary. Availability to respond to emergencies outside regularly scheduled hours will be required when necessary.
