Job summary

Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center is seeking a Section Coordinator of Credentialing and Assignment to support credentialing, privileging, provider assignment, and compliance for the Office of Strategic Initiatives (OSI).

The role requires a bachelor’s degree with experience in credentialing, privileging, and onboarding; strong organizational skills, confidentiality, and the ability to coordinate with hospitals, providers, and internal staff.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree plus two (2) years related experience; OR a combination of education and/or related experience to equal six (6)years.
  • Three years of experience with healthcare provider credentialing, recredentialing, primary source verification, and/or privileging.
  • Three years of experience with contract administration, healthcare operations, or a related function requiring collaboration with multiple stakeholders.
  • Experience serving as a primary liaison between providers, healthcare facilities, vendors, or internal stakeholders to coordinate operations and resolve issues.
  • Knowledge of provider onboarding, licensure and certification tracking, credentialing files, and audit-ready documentation.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate initial credentialing and recredentialing activities for healthcare providers and professional staff to support compliance with organizational and regulatory requirements.
  • Facilitate provider privileging processes by serving as a liaison among hospitals, credentialing personnel, and providers to ensure timely communication and documentation.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for telehealth and onsite OSI provider assignments, coordinating scheduling, logistics, and related communications.
  • Support provider onboarding activities, including coordinating required documentation, tracking progress, and assisting with newprovider setup.
  • Review and reconcile timekeeping records to ensure accuracy and compliance with departmental and organizational processes.
  • Assist with invoice processing, tracking, and related administrative functions to support departmental operations.
  • Maintain credentialing, privileging, and provider records, ensuring information is accurate, current, and appropriatelydocumented.
  • Support audits, investigations, and risk management activities by gathering records, researching information, and maintainingrequired documentation.
  • Collaborate with providers, healthcare facilities, and internalstakeholders to resolve issues, answer inquiries, and supportefficient department operations.
  • Complete assigned responsibilities accurately and withinestablished timelines while maintaining a high level of customerservice, compliance, and operational support.

Position Description

The Section Coordinator of Credentialing and Assignment coordinatesand supports credentialing, privileging, provider assignment, andcompliance activities for the Office of Strategic Initiatives (OSI)Compliance and Risk Management department. This role is well suitedfor a highly organized professional who can navigate complexsituations with professionalism, discretion, and sound judgment.Successful candidates are comfortable addressing sensitive matters,maintaining confidentiality, and communicating expectations clearlywhile building trusted relationships with healthcare providers,hospital partners, credentialing personnel and internalstakeholders to achieve shared goals.

Major/Essential Functions
