Job summary

Northrop Grumman Space Systems—Missile Defense Integration in Huntsville, AL seeks a Software Engineer (26-420) to design, develop, and maintain Java/J2EE software for the C2BMC program, ensuring robust regional applications for missile defense missions.

The role requires an active Secret clearance, on-site work with up to 10% travel, and collaboration across Agile teams, with emphasis on testing, CI/CD, and documentation to support system reliability.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in CS/Software Eng/Math/Physics or related field with 2 years of experience; or Master's with 1 year; or 6 years experience may be considered as alternative to degree
Active Secret security clearance required to start
Experience in Java/J2EE or another OO language; knowledge of OO design and patterns
Knowledge of CI/CD, automated testing, and configuration management

Responsibilities

Design, develop, and maintain Java/J2EE software for Regional Applications in C2BMC
Work in an Agile team to implement features and resolve complex problems
Translate requirements and SysML Use Cases into software components
Follow coding standards, testing, and CI/CD practices
Manage configuration and version control; perform code reviews
Participate in full software development lifecycle: analysis to deployment
Provide technical support and optimize performance of systems software
Prepare technical docs including design and test plans
