Job summary

RAND Consulting Group, LLC is seeking a lead technical engineer for a DoD program at Fort Meade. You will assess, pilot, and transition emerging technologies and lead system integration testing in a government lab.

You will perform security assessments, prepare ATO documentation, and produce transition artifacts while coordinating with receiving organizations; on-site responsibilities on a hybrid schedule.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of DoD experience
• Active Secret clearance; U.S. citizenship required
• Ability to provide on-site support at Fort George G. Meade, MD during core hours
• DoD 8140 certification aligned to the applicable DCWF work role, obtained before award or within three months of award

Responsibilities

• Lead system integration testing for candidate technologies with minimal oversight
• Conduct technology assessments covering maturity, usability, security, scalability, deployment history, cost model, TRL, and architecture; write assessment reports
• Set up, configure, deploy, and secure new technologies in a test environment; develop test plans and measures; conduct testing; write test reports
• Produce concept and solution architecture diagrams, documentation of ports/protocols/services, SBOMs, and hardware requirements
• Run vulnerability scans, suggest security configurations, identify blockers for production deployment
• Support pilot deployments from planning to post-pilot reporting in production-like environments
• Conduct security assessments and prepare documentation for deployment and ATO; briefings and artifacts for OA
• Prepare transition artifacts such as transition plan, system design document, CM plan, and risk plan; lead technical exchanges and training
• Monitor emerging technology trends and contribute to the program technology watchlist
