Job summary

Meijer Inc. is seeking a security/asset protection-minded team member to ensure a safe shopping environment.

You will actively monitor store areas, engage with customers, and respond to alarms and receipts checks to recover unpaid merchandise. Ideal candidates have 1–2 years of customer service or asset protection experience, strong communication, and the ability to learn new technology solutions while maintaining composure in challenging situations.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• 1–2 years of customer service or asset protection experience preferred.
• Clear and professional written and oral communication skills are essential.
• Ability to move actively throughout the work area for long periods.
• Ability to respond to alerts quickly and urgently.
• Ability to learn and interact with new technology solutions.
• Ability to document incidents clearly using available systems.
• Ability to negotiate and de-escalate conflicts effectively.

Responsibilities

• Actively identify and quickly resolve unsafe conditions and situations.
• Prevent theft through active presence and engagement with customers entering and exiting.
• Respond to alerts urgently to check receipts and recover unpaid merchandise.
• Reduce store disruption using de-escalation techniques and clear communication.
• Document and communicate theft, safety, and alarm incidents to relevant teams.
