Job summary

Meijer is seeking a frontline security team member to deter theft and maintain a safe shopping environment. You will actively identify unsafe conditions, engage with customers, respond to alarms, and document incidents following company procedures.

This role requires a high school diploma, 1–2 years of customer service or asset protection experience, strong communication, and the ability to move throughout the store.

Qualifications

• High school graduate or equivalent.
• 1-2 years of customer service or asset protection experience.
• Clear and professional written and oral communication skills.
• Ability to move throughout the store for long periods.
• Ability to respond to alerts quickly and urgently.
• Ability to learn and use store technology solutions.
• Ability to negotiate and de-escalate situations.
• Knowledge of product locations to direct customers.
• Ability to work well with conflicts.

Responsibilities

• Actively identify and quickly resolve unsafe conditions and situations.
• Prevent theft through active presence and engagement with customers.
• Respond to alerts urgently to check receipts, recover unpaid merchandise, and resolve alarms.
• Reduce store disruption following de-escalation techniques.
• Document and communicate theft, safety, and alarm incidents.
