Job summary

Meijer Inc. in Ohio is seeking an Asset Protection Team Member to help keep customers and associates safe while preventing loss. You’ll be stationed at store entrances and throughout the sales floor, using de-escalation techniques and technology to monitor activity.

The role emphasizes quick response to alerts, documenting incidents, and communicating effectively with customers and coworkers. The ideal candidate has a high school diploma and 1–2 years of customer service or protection

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• 1–2 years of customer service or asset protection experience preferred.
• Clear and professional written and oral communication skills.
• Ability to move throughout the work area for long periods.
• Ability to respond to alerts quickly and urgently.
• Ability to learn and interact with new technology solutions.
• Ability to document and communicate incidents with technology.
• Ability to apply negotiation and de-escalation techniques.
• Ability to know product locations to direct customers.
• Ability to work well with others in conflict situations.

Responsibilities

• Actively identify and quickly resolve unsafe conditions and situations.
• Prevent theft through an active presence and engagement with customers entering and exiting.
• Respond to alerts urgently to check receipts, recover unpaid merchandise, and resolve alarms.
• Reduce store disruption following company de-escalation and negotiation techniques.
• Document and communicate theft, safety, and alarm activity incidents.
