Job summary

Lurie Children’s is seeking a Patient Service Representative for the Town & Country Pediatrics location. The role involves handling pre-registration, eligibility verification, and patient consents while entering data into Epic.

You will coordinate referrals, collect payments, and schedule multiple types of appointments in a fast-paced pediatric setting. Strong communication and problem-solving skills are essential, along with a high school diploma or equivalent and familiarity with Microsoft

Qualifications

• Knowledge of medical terminology and managed care requirements preferred.
• Experience with electronic medical records (EMR) preferred.
• Strong customer service and interpersonal skills with pediatric patients and families.

Responsibilities

• Completes pre-registration and full registration for families and ensures eligibility information is accurate.
• Obtains patient/family consents and enters them into Epic.
• Verifies referrals for visits and assists with same-day referrals when possible.
• Collects payments (estimates, copays, balances, self-pay) via appropriate systems.
• Schedules appointments and coordinates with other departments; prints labels and prepares forms.
• Maintains confidentiality and HIPAA compliance throughout processes.
