Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required; some college preferred.
• Knowledge of medical terminology, third party billing and managed care preferred.
• Knowledge of electronic medical records (EMR) and basic computer skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Outlook; strong communication skills essential.
• Excellent customer service and interpersonal abilities to assist pediatric patients and families.

Responsibilities

• Completes pre-registration and full registration for families.
• Ensures eligibility information is accurate.
• Obtains patient/family consents and necessary forms; enters into Epic.
• Queries MyChart and Care Everywhere; uses Epicare Link when appropriate.
• Checks referrals and assists with same-day service when possible.
• Collects payments and explains estimates, co-pays, and balances using applicable systems.
• Prints intake labels and distributes forms for visit; provides IDs when required.
• Schedules appointments (new, return, same-day, ancillary) as needed.
• Maintains confidentiality and HIPAA compliance; completes check-out procedures.
• Communicates with other staff to coordinate activities.
