Job summary

Sur La Table in Jacksonville, FL is seeking a Seasonal Kitchen Assistant to support chefs, engage guests, and maintain a clean, organized kitchen during cooking classes and in-store events. You will help with mise en place, assist class execution, and contribute to a friendly, guest-focused experience that drives enrollment and repeat visits.

Ideal candidates have 16+ years, retail/kitchen experience, a Food Handler certification, and strong communication skills.

Qualifications

• Must be 16 years of age or older.
• 1 year retail sales experience, preferred
• 1 year food prep and/or kitchen operations experience, preferred
• Valid Food Handlers Certification.
• Excellent communication, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and retail systems preferred.

Responsibilities

• Represent Sur La Table’s brand and create memorable, educational experiences that inspire repeat visits and customer loyalty.
• Support chefs to ensure class operations and guest satisfaction.
• Drive class enrollment by ensuring high enrollment, positive reviews, and guest return rates.
• Set up and breakdown of classes including mise en place, prepping ingredients, and cleaning workstations.
• Maintain clean and sanitize dishes and equipment; restock and organize kitchen supplies.
