Job summary

Sur La Table is seeking a Seasonal Kitchen Assistant to support our chefs during classes and retail events. You will engage guests, help maintain a clean, organized kitchen, and contribute to a positive, guest-obsessed environment.

Ideal candidates have 1 year of retail sales and food prep experience, a valid Food Handlers Certification, and strong communication skills. This part-time role requires 12–16 hours weekly, including nights and weekends.

Qualifications

• 16+ years of age or older at time of employment.
• 1 year of retail sales experience preferred.
• 1 year of food prep and/or kitchen operations experience preferred.
• Valid Food Handlers Certification.
• Excellent communication, problem-solving and decision-making abilities.

Responsibilities

• Represent Sur La Table’s brand and culture by creating memorable customer experiences.
• Assist chefs with class execution to drive enrollment and positive feedback.
• Help achieve class revenue goals through high enrollment, reviews and guest return rates.
• Set up and breakdown classes, prep ingredients, and maintain clean workstations.
• Adhere to food safety standards and SOPs; manage inventory and store readiness.
