Job summary

The Salvation Army is seeking a Christmas Kettle Assistant to support bell ringing and logistics for our annual campaign in Sterling, IL.

You will help manage kettle operations, data entry, scheduling, and volunteer coordination while ensuring safety and respectful service. This seasonal role runs through December 24th and requires flexible days, evenings, weekends, and holidays. A background check and valid driver's license are required.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required; customer service experience counts.
• Must be able to interact with people of diverse backgrounds.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Must be able to work days, evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Data entry and management of kettle sites and routes using the Register to Ring.
• Coordinate transportation for kettles and bell ringers.
• Answer inquiries from bell ringers and sites by phone or email.
• Resolve kettle issues with corps officers.
• Sort kettle funds and deposit to the bank as needed.
• Maintain a positive, professional work environment.
• Uphold Safe from Harm certification compliance.
• Local travel required.
• Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.
