Job summary

H&R Block, Inc. is seeking a seasonal Client Service Professional / Receptionist to warmly greet clients and manage daily office operations in person. You will schedule appointments and pair clients with the appropriate tax professional, while maintaining confidentiality and an organized front desk.

The role provides exposure to tax service environments, with opportunities to grow into tax preparation or office leadership during tax season. Evening and weekend shifts are required.

Qualifications

• Experience working in a fast-paced, client-centric environment.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with team members and serve clients professionally
• Ability to multitask and manage competing priorities throughout the day
• Organizational skills with attention to detail and follow-through
• Comfort using basic computer programs and digital tools (e.g., Microsoft Office, Teams and scheduling systems)
• Availability to work evenings and weekends during tax season

Responsibilities

• Greet clients warmly and create a welcoming, professional first impression as the face of the office
• Answer phone calls, schedule appointments, and match clients with the right tax professional based on their needs
• Manage client check-in and intake processes, including scanning and organizing documents
• Maintain office organization and cleanliness to support a smooth, professional client experience
• Collaborate with tax professionals and team members to ensure seamless daily operations
• Handle sensitive client information with confidentiality, discretion, and care
