Job summary

The Salvation Army North & Central Illinois Division is seeking a seasonal data entry assistant to support HR operations during the Christmas kettle season. You will perform date entry, maintain HR files, and provide clerical support.

This role requires a high school diploma, a background check, one year of HR/administrative experience, and a valid driver’s license with Safe From Harm training within 30 days. Office environment; no supervisory duties.

Salary Range Starting at

Job Objective

As the seasonal data entry assistant, you will perform administrative tasks and services to support effective and efficient HR operations during seasonal needs.

What You Will Do

• Date entry for bell ringer processing during Christmas kettle season
• Assist in the maintenance of accurate and up-to-date human resources electronic and paper files, records, and documentation.
• Maintains the integrity and confidentiality of human resource files and records.
• Performs periodic audits of HR files and records to ensure that all required documents are collected and filed appropriately.
• Provides clerical support to the HR department.

Minimum Qualifications

• Education: High School Diploma required, associate degree with emphasis on business preferred
• Background Checks: Position requires a background check to be completed and all background check results will be reviewed.
• Experience: One year of experience in human resources, business, or similar administrative role.
• Certifications: Must have a valid driver’s license and maintain The Salvation Army Driver’s qualification standard; must complete Safe From Harm training within the first 30 days of employment.

Skills/Abilities

• Able to speak, write and understand English in a manner sufficient for effective communication with leadership, field personnel, and clientele
• Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to manage sensitive and confidential situations with tact, professionalism, and diplomacy.
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Strong PC skills including proficiency in Microsoft word and excel.
• Ability to learn payroll, HRIS and other computer application systems.
