Job summary

The Salvation Army is seeking a seasonal data entry assistant to support HR operations during peak seasons. You will perform data entry for kettle season and maintain confidential HR files with accuracy and discretion.

Requirements include a high school diploma, one year HR/administrative experience, and a valid driver’s license. Training on Safe From Harm is required within 30 days.

Salary Range Starting at: $20.00/per hour
Job Objective:

As the seasonal data entry assistant, you will perform administrative tasks and services to support effective and efficient HR operations during seasonal needs.

What You Will Do:
  • Date entry for bell ringer processing during Christmas kettle season
  • Assist in the maintenance of accurate and up-to-date human resources electronic and paper files, records, and documentation.
  • Maintains the integrity and confidentiality of human resource files and records.
  • Performs periodic audits of HR files and records to ensure that all required documents are collected and filed appropriately.
  • Provides clerical support to the HR department.
Minimum Qualifications:

The requirements listed below are representative of the minimal education, experience, skills, and/or abilities required for this position.

Education: High School Diploma required, associate degree with emphasis on business preferred

Background Checks: Position requires a background check to be completed and all background check results will be reviewed.

Experience: One year of experience in human resources, business, or similar administrative role.

Certifications: Must have a valid driver’s license and maintain The Salvation Army Driver’s qualification standard; must complete Safe From Harm training within the first 30 days of employment.

Skills/Abilities:
  • Able to speak, write and understand English in a manner sufficient for effective communication with leadership, field personnel, and clientele
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to manage sensitive and confidential situations with tact, professionalism, and diplomacy.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong PC skills including proficiency in Microsoft word and excel.
  • Ability to learn payroll, HRIS and other computer application systems.
Supervisory Responsibility:

No supervisory responsibility for this position

Physical Requirements Include:
  • Good speaking, hearing and vision ability, and excellent manual dexterity
  • Sitting for extended periods of time
  • Lifting, pull or push up to 25 lbs.
