Job summary

Rivian in New Jersey is seeking an Adventure Readiness Specialist to join the Service team during peak seasonal periods. You will help keep Rivian vehicles ready for delivery and ensure owners can focus on their adventures without interruption.

This entry-point role provides hands-on training through the TRAIL program, mentorship for the Service Technician path, and RLN modules, with opportunities to support multiple areas of the business as needed.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma, GED, or other recognized high school equivalency credential preferred.
• Previous technical experience (e.g. automotive repair, mechanical maintenance, or electrical work) or experience in an adjacent technical industry is highly preferred.
• A strong desire to learn, adaptability, and a passion for working with your hands.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
• Must be at least 21 years old and possess a valid driver’s license with no driving-related suspensions or revocation in the past 3–5 years.
• Ability to work a flexible 40-hour week, which may include varied shifts, weekends, and holidays. Physical exertion may be required (sitting, standing, bending, lifting up to 50 lbs).
• Frequent use of hands for grasping, data entry, and tool use.
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as regulations, safety rules, and schematics.
• Role may involve regular interaction with customers, affiliates, and suppliers at Rivian facilities or community events.

Responsibilities

• Vehicle & Site Operations: Receive, inspect, and process incoming vehicle inventory; maintain vehicle quality and delivery readiness; manage lot organization and secure key management; keep the service center clean and organized per 5S principles.
• Service Production Support: Assist technicians with basic vehicle repairs (PDI tasks and Express Lane work); learn to safely use basic hand and power tools under supervision; support workshop by maintaining tool and equipment readiness.
• Training & Career Development: Participate in the TRAIL program with hands-on learning and technical training; receive mentorship toward the Service Technician role; complete RLN modules; explore a long-term path within Rivian; provide cross-functional support to other areas of the business as needed.
