Job summary

Fish City Grill Alamo Heights is seeking a Line Cook responsible for preparing, cooking and presenting seafood to our standards, while keeping a clean, safe kitchen and friendly service.

You’ll follow recipes, manage prep, and work with team to meet ticket times. High school diploma or GED preferred, culinary training welcome; 6 months to 1 year line cook prep experience preferred. Must be able to stand, lift up to 50 pounds, and communicate clearly in English.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Culinary degree or equivalent preferred.
• Six months to one year minimum experience as a Prep/Line Cook in a full service restaurant; must have knowledge of cooking techniques used in prep/line position; or equivalent education/experience.
• Good reading, writing, mathematical and communication skills.
• Able to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
• Good judgment and decision making abilities.
• Must work well with limited supervision within specific position functions, but interact with other team members.

• Assist other Line Cooks by bringing products and equipment to the line and learn other Line positions to foster teamwork.
• Maintain clean, organized walk-ins, freezers, and other storage locations.
