Job summary

The Fresh Market is seeking a Seafood Specialist to lead the seafood department, ensuring product freshness, accurate presentation, and food safety compliance. You will own seafood inventory, rotation standards, and department readiness for promotions while delivering exceptional guest service.

This role emphasizes teamwork, hospitality, and operational integrity, with opportunities to engage guests and support store initiatives during busy periods.

Qualifications

• 1+ years of progressive management experience in supermarkets, retail, restaurants, hotels, or general business.
• Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and develop high-performing teams.
• Proven ability to deliver an exceptional guest experience while achieving performance goals.
• Excellent communication, problem-solving, and conflict resolution skills.

Responsibilities

• Ensure all seafood products meet freshness and quality standards, including proper rotation and dating.
• Execute planograms and maintain accurate product placement and signage.
• Coordinate with department leadership on ordering and replenishment of seafood items.
• Verify deliveries for accuracy and freshness, ensuring proper receiving and storage procedures.
• Play a key role in compliance during key item transitions and promotional events.
• Support front-end operations during peak business times as a cashier or in other areas.
• Engage guests with a friendly, helpful approach when on the sales floor.
