Job summary

Wake County Public School System's Child Nutrition Services seeks a CNS Manager to supervise a school cafeteria, manage food production, customer service, cash handling and inventory.

The role demands strong leadership, knowledge of nutrition laws, ServSafe certification eligibility, and the ability to work in a multi-campus environment with strict cost controls and compliance with policies.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Two years of food service and/or management experience.
• Must be ServSafe Certified or able to become ServSafe Certified within 90 days.

Responsibilities

• Manages the School Nutrition Program in compliance with all policies and procedures.
• Maintains cost controls and quality of items received; ensures proper storage.
• Supervises CNS employees and participates in staff development.
• Prepares daily work and cleaning schedules for CNS staff.
• Maintains food safety and sanitation procedures and temperature logs.
• Follows cash handling procedures and daily fund deposits.
• Maintains equipment care and inventory control.
• Completes required training including CNS manager training and USDA PD hours.
• Promotes healthy school nutrition and positive public relations.
