Job summary

Wake County Public School System is seeking a CNS Assistant Manager to help manage the school cafeteria, prepare and serve meals, and supervise operations in the absence of the CNS Manager.

The role requires coordinating with staff, maintaining records, and ensuring compliance with nutrition and sanitation standards. The position operates in a school site setting with standard school hours.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of child nutrition laws, policies, and procedures.
• Proficiency with MS Office and Google Apps.
• Strong time management and customer service skills.
• Ability to perform basic math and track records.
• Ability to read and follow recipes and schedules.
• Ability to work independently and communicate clearly.

Responsibilities

• Prepares, cooks, and serves meals and side dishes per recipes.
• Acts as cashier and maintains accurate sales records via POS.
• Supports deposits and banking procedures when needed.
• Provides leadership in the CNS Manager's absence.
• Maintains records, inventories, and vending procedures.
• Ensures cleanliness per sanitation codes and schedules.
• Complies with Wake County Public School System policies.
• Delivers effective communication with students, staff, and parents.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.
