Job summary

Wake County Public School System seeks a CNS Manager to oversee the School Nutrition Program at a school site. This role directs food production, cash handling, inventory, staff supervision, and customer service while ensuring compliance with federal, state, and district policies.

The CNS Manager will develop schedules, monitor food costs, train staff, maintain safety standards, and prepare records and reports.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Two years of food service and/or management experience.
• Must be ServSafe Certified or able to become ServSafe Certified within 90 days and maintain certification.
• Knowledge of child nutrition laws, policies, and procedures.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and Google Apps.
• Strong time management and customer service skills.
• Ability to communicate clearly in writing and orally; ability to read and follow recipes and schedules.
• Ability to manage food production, inventory, and cash handling.
• Ability to supervise staff and maintain professional relationships.

Responsibilities

• Manages the School Nutrition Program in accordance with federal, state, local, and district policies.
• Maintains food cost control through planning, forecasting, ordering, and receiving.
• Trains and evaluates CNS employees and conducts staff meetings.
• Ensures food safety, sanitation, and proper storage of items.
• Maintains records for breakfast, lunch, snack production, cash sheets, and inventories.
• Prepares daily work and cleaning schedules for CNS staff.
• Monitors temperature records of equipment and storage areas.
• Reports accidents and ensures staff health compliance.
• Complies with internal fiscal controls and cash handling procedures.
