Job summary

The Wake County Public School System is seeking a CNS Assistant Manager to oversee school cafeteria operations, supervise staff, and step in for the CNS Manager as needed. You will prepare, cook, and serve meals and maintain accurate records, supervise cash handling with POS, ensure sanitation, and follow the CNS Handbook guidelines in a busy school environment.

This role requires ServSafe certification within 90 days and a high school diploma, with strong customer service, time management, and

Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent.
Must be ServSafe Certified or able to become ServSafe Certified within 90 days.
Experience in food service and/or cashier is preferred.
Knowledge of child nutrition laws, policies, and procedures.

Responsibilities

Prepares, cooks and serves meals, salads, and a la-carte items per recipes.
Acts as cashier and uses POS to record sales and maintain accurate money handling.
Maintains deposits and bank deposits as needed.
Provides leadership in CNS Manager's absence.
Keeps records, inventories and sanitation procedures current.
Ensures kitchen cleanliness per codes and schedules.
Performs housekeeping tasks in serving and dining areas.
Complies with WCPSS CNS Handbook policies.
