Job summary

Wake County Public School System seeks a CNS Assistant Manager to support the management of a school cafeteria. You will prepare, cook, and serve meals, salads, and an array of items, while leading the operation in the CNS Manager’s absence.

Requirements include a high school diploma and ServSafe certification within 90 days. You will handle cashier duties, deposits, inventories, and maintain sanitation standards, liaising with students, families, and staff.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Must be ServSafe Certified or able to become ServSafe Certified within 90 days and maintain certification.
• Experience in food service preferred.
• Ability to operate a computerized point of sale system to record sales and deposits.
• Strong customer service and ability to work with students, parents, and staff.

Responsibilities

• Prepares, cooks, and serves meals, salads, and a la carte items according to recipes.
• Acts as cashier; records all food leaving the serving line using POS system and handles money accurately.
• Assists in deposits and bank deposits as needed.
• Provides leadership and serves in CNS Manager's absence.
• Maintains records, inventories, and vending procedures.
• Keeps kitchen and equipment clean per sanitation codes; schedules cleaning tasks.
• Performs housekeeping duties as assigned to maintain a clean cafeteria environment.
• Complies with WCPSS Child Nutrition Handbook policies.
• Communicates effectively with students, parents, and staff.
