Job summary

Virginia Beach City Public Schools is seeking a diligent custodial worker to perform routine cleaning, maintenance, and setup for events at multiple school facilities. Training will cover cleaning methods, equipment use, and safety practices to ensure a clean, safe educational environment.

Responsibilities include post-lunch cafeteria cleaning, trash removal, floor care, and assisting with special events. Candidates should have GED or some high school, with preferred diploma and custodial

• Must have GED or some high school completed.
• Preferred: High School Diploma; some custodial experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine custodial tasks to keep school buildings clean and safe.
• Cafeteria cleaning after lunch, mop floors, wipe tables, and arrange furniture for next use.
• Clean bathrooms and hallways; pick up trash and maintain cleanliness around grounds.
• Set up spaces for PTA, special events, and meetings; secure classrooms and doors at day end.
• Vacuum, dust, wash walls, windows, and chalkboards; assist with special programs after hours.
