Job summary

The American Heart Association in San Diego seeks a School Engagement Associate to support our Development team and engage schools, families, and educators to champion heart health. This hybrid, temporary role runs from October 2026 to May 2027 and focuses on communications, scheduling, data entry and fundraising support to drive local impact.

You will coordinate email campaigns, maintain school contacts, assist with CRM data, and help prepare materials for events.

Qualifications

• 3 years minimum prior relevant work experience.
• Ability to work daily local travel with reliable transportation.
• Comfortable with CRM data entry and fundraising support.
• Proactive, independent work style with strong communication.

Responsibilities

• School Communication Plan Management: Coordinate and support the communication plans with all participating schools for two teams. Includes ensuring updates are made and that all schools regularly receive communication according to timelines.
• Website Coordination: Assist with password management, email permissions, and school webpages.
• Administrative Support: Upload and maintain school contact information, create labels and mail items/supplies, provide customer service by email and phone.
• Data Management: Maintain information in MS Dynamics (CRM), and Blackbaud schedule and complete activities, update notes, research and update contacts
• Fundraising Support: Assist fundraisers with meeting preparation and follow‑up, schedule meetings with participating and prospective school contacts, support school assemblies, and help with materials and resources.
