Job summary

The American Heart Association is seeking a School Engagement Associate to support the Development team across schools in the Western States. This hybrid, temporary role (Oct 2026–May 2027) involves email campaigns, scheduling, data entry, donation processing, and customer service with possible local travel.

You will coordinate school communication plans, manage website tasks, perform CRM data maintenance in Salesforce and Blackbaud, and assist with fundraising activities and resources.

Qualifications

• 3 years minimum prior relevant work experience.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Ability to do daily local travel; requires access to reliable transportation at all times on an immediate basis.
• Ability to work from a home office and in the field consistent with the Association's flexible work arrangements policy.
• Demonstrated ability to work independently and communicate proactively.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, "we can do this" environment.
• This position requires extensive data management and reporting using CRMs; proficiency with Microsoft Office is essential.
• Ability to lift and/or move large objects as needed; heavier items may need assistance.
• Willingness to work flexible hours, including early mornings and evenings.

Responsibilities

• School Communication Plan Management: Coordinate communications with participating schools for two teams.
• Website Coordination: Assist with password management, email permissions, and school webpages.
• Administrative Support: Upload and maintain school contact information, create labels and mail items, provide customer service by email and phone.
• Data Management: Maintain information in Salesforce (CRM) and Blackbaud, update notes and contacts.
• Fundraising Support: Assist fundraisers with meeting prep and follow-ups, schedule meetings with school contacts, support school assemblies, and materials.
