Job summary

The American Heart Association is seeking a School Engagement Associate to support the Development team and participating schools in the Western States region with administrative tasks, email campaigns, scheduling, data entry, and donor communications. Local travel may be required for on-site school support.

This hybrid, temporary role runs from October 2026 through May 2027, offering opportunities to work with Salesforce and Blackbaud CRM, Heart U training, and a comprehensive benefits package.

Qualifications

• Three years minimum prior relevant work experience.
• High school diploma or equivalent experience.
• Ability to travel locally daily and have reliable transportation.
• Ability to work from home and in the field per flexible arrangements policy.
• Demonstrated ability to work independently and communicate proactively.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
• Proficiency with CRM databases (Salesforce/Blackbaud) and MS Office; data management and reporting are essential.
• Ability to lift/move large objects as needed.
• Willing to work flexible hours including early mornings and evenings to engage with schools and manage events.

Responsibilities

• School Communication Plan Management: Coordinate and support the communication plans with all participating schools for two teams.
• Website Coordination: Assist with password management, email permissions, and school webpages.
• Administrative Support: Upload and maintain school contact information, create labels and mail items, provide customer service by email and phone.
• Data Management: Maintain information in Salesforce and Blackbaud; schedule and complete activities, update notes, research contacts.
• Fundraising Support: Prepare for meetings, schedule with school contacts, assist school assemblies, and provide materials and resources.
