Job summary

GI Alliance is seeking a scheduling specialist to manage office visits and procedure appointments, supporting physicians and staff in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

  • 2-5 years of prior medical scheduling experience preferred.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent customer service skills required.
  • Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
  • Detail-oriented with basic understanding of healthcare plans.
  • Bilingual is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Schedule office visits and procedures; may be via phone or face-to-face.
  • Assist with high call volume and triage messages for medical staff.
  • Maintain physicians' schedules and view patient notes in EMR.
  • Assist in patient registration and financial transactions.
  • May schedule radiology/lab and recall scheduling.
  • Assist check-in and check-out of patients; collect payments; reconcile charges daily.
  • File records in patient charts in EMR; prepare charts and scan documents.
  • Assist with Ambulatory Surgical Center needs as needed.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

  • Maintain physicians schedules - scheduling office visits and procedures (may be done via phone or face-to-face)
  • Take triage call messages for medical staff
  • View patient visit notes, identifying problems & diagnosis listed and physician orders
  • Assist in patient registration and financial transactions
  • May schedule radiology/lab
  • May include recall scheduling
  • Assist with high call volume
  • Maintain physicians schedules - scheduling office visits and procedures (may be done via phone or face-to-face)

Requirements For Level II Status
  • Intermediate experience (4+ years' experience) and/or acting more independently,
  • Takes on some additional duties to assist the office.
  • Strong and consistent performer.

  • Proficient technical (computer) skills.
  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize.
  • Self-motivated with initiative.
  • Strong sense of ethics.
